Halloween

Halloween with Harper was fun this year.   She still didn't quite understand the costume thing, but she did catch on to the candy thing.  Real quick like.

To get into the swing of fall we went to a berry patch.  It was owned by one of Chase's hometeaching families, so we got hooked up.  ;)  They had pumpkins of all varieties, animals of all varieties, a miniature straw maze, and goodies for sale.  You can see what Harper's favorite part was.  Animals.  Duh.  G&G Fly came over for the day and we had a great time with them!

Once again...no fear

She loved feeding the animals, once she got the hang of it.  Unfortunately they had been fed a lot that day and weren't too eager.

She found her perfect pumpkin!

Grandma Fly and I tried and tried and tried to get a cute pose on a pumpkin.  No go.  A lot of wiggling around and scowls are all we got.

Saying bye to G&G Fly.  We love you!

Playing at home later that day.  (This play set came with our house....sweet!)

For Halloween Harper was Little Red Riding Hood.  My mom asked me about a month ago if I wanted her to make Harper a costume.  My mom makes the cutest costumes, but I told her she didn't have to because her costume from last year would still fit.  Luckily for us, she still made one.  Good thing too because Harper wouldn't wear her cute skunk again.  But she sure was excited about this dress!  Whenever she'd see it hanging up she'd say "Dress, Mama" and cry until I put it on her.  She even wanted to wear it to church.

 Little Red

Thanks to Megan for the photos.  Megan spent the night with us and came to our trunk-or-treat dressed as the Granny/Wolf.  She was adorable.  Where is that picture, Meg?!  We trunk-or-treated, decorated yummy sugar cookies and chatted the night away.

Halloween night consisted of dinner with friends and LOADS of trick-or-treaters.  Our neighborhood got slammed.  We ran out of candy in under 2 hours, and it was a pretty constant 2 hours.  But Harper was traumatized with the very first set of trick-or-treaters.  She wanted to help me answer the door and when I opened it the kids were dressed as bloody vampires, werewolves, etc.  She freaked.  She is still scared whenever the doorbell rings.

Happy Halloween!
Oh wait...it's November.
Happy Thanksgiving!
(Just in case I don't make it back here before then.)
